1. Cross Posting in Clubs : Since we have more than 10 clubs, we strongly recommend to only discuss topics associated with that club, in that club. We do not encourage cross-posting. For instance, a sports related topic should not be discussed in book club. Or a book related topic shouldn’t be discussed in food club. There are exceptions - let’s say if you are discussing book adaptations, such discussion can be both movie club and book club. But in general, please maintain sanctity of each club.

2. Spamming : All of us are passionate about art and pop-culture but sometimes we tend to over-indulge even when no one is interacting with us. Spamming includes, but is not limited to, irrelevant or repetitive messages, unsolicited advertisements, links to external sites not related to the community's purpose, and any content that disrupts the flow of conversation. Please don’t spam.

3. Message Deletion by Admins : If a message violates our guidelines, admins will remove it directly. If you do not agree, you can DM Sorabh. In case you are still not satisfied, you can ask Sorabh to add you to Chalchitra Member Care [Another group in our community, especially made for care of a member] where more team members of Chalchitra will look into the matter.

4. Feedback : A feedback form has been added to each club for your convenience. You can also place a suggestion or a request there.

5. Religion & Politics : Religious and political topics are often deeply personal and can lead to divisive debates. These discussions can easily become heated and detract from the welcoming spirit of our community. We rely on each member's good judgment to steer clear of initiating or engaging in religious or political discussions. Please be mindful of the diverse beliefs and viewpoints of our community members. If a conversation inadvertently shifts towards religious or political themes, we encourage members to gently guide the discussion back to the group's main focus. It's about collective responsibility in maintaining our community's ethos. Should you encounter any discussions that breach this guideline, please refrain from escalating the situation. Instead, privately message Sorabh to address the issue.

6. Cuss Words : As a community, we agree to avoid the use of cuss words and offensive language. This helps us maintain a positive and inclusive environment. We recognize that language is dynamic and contextual. In our community, the use of the word "fuck" is acceptable within certain limits. It can be used to express frustration, excitement, or emphasis, but not directed at another member in an offensive or hurtful manner. Be mindful of other members' sensitivities. If someone expresses discomfort with your language, please respect their feelings and adjust your communication accordingly.

7. Unofficial WhatsApp Clubs : If you wish to create an unofficial Chalchitra club, it needs to be made after putting in a request to admins. We wouldn't associate or promote any groups which are made without the approval of Chalchitra admins. If any unofficial Chalchitra club/group is made apart from the main 12 clubs, please note that Chalchitra's name is still being used and we request you to respect that. Please inform Sorabh and Vaibhav and seek permission if using Chalchitra's name for any creation - just like we did for Chalchitra Wellness Club.

8. Direct messages to other Members / Chalchitra creators : Direct messages to individual members or creators without their prior consent is not permitted. Our community members' privacy is paramount, and we must respect their boundaries and preferences. If you wish to message another member directly, please first seek their permission in the main group. This can be done by simply asking if they are open to receiving a direct message from you. If you receive unsolicited or inappropriate direct messages from a community member, please report to Sorabh immediately.

9. Direct Messages to Vaibhav : Among the co-founders, the community is primarily being looked after by Sorabh. Vaibhav is not involved in the day to day operations of the community, so he may not respond in time. If you wish to interact with Vaibhav in regard to pop-culture discussion, you can tag him in any of the clubs. In case of any complaints, suggestions, please message Sorabh or join Chalchitra Member Care via request to Sorabh.

10. Self-Promotion : Self-promotion includes any content primarily intended to promote a business, product, service, or personal brand. This can be in the form of direct advertisements, subtle marketing messages, unsolicited promotions, or excessive sharing of personal ventures. Occasionally, self-promotion may be allowed if it is deemed highly relevant and beneficial to the community. In such cases, permission must be sought from Sorabh before posting. We particularly do not encourage any external link based self-promotion. However, there are a few exceptions as follow

11. Respect Diverse Perspective : We believe that the community should be a safe space for everyone to share their opinions. We encourage openness to diverse opinions, as fostering a community with varied insights is our goal. That is the core genesis of Chalchitra Talks.

12. Inappropriate content : Any content / text that shows, depicts or describes nudity, sexual acts, the offering of sexual services, sexual arousal, and / or sexual objectification is not allowed. Particular care needs to be taken while sharing GIFs, and members should be mindful that they shouldn’t share any inappropriate imagery in GIFs too.

13. Hate speech, bullying and abuse :  We do not allow threats of violence, hateful, defamatory or derogative words or speeches – or the targeting of private individuals. We do not allow attacks or abuse based on race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability or disease. Help us keep everyone safe: if you see or hear something in our clubs at any time that you think may violate our Community Guidelines, please let Sorabh know.

14. Non-Compliance : A message will be deleted if it doesn't comply with the guidelines. On repeat offences, we will reach out to you with a warning. However, if we find that you are consistently violating the guidelines, you will be removed from the community. If you have concerns about a guideline or a decision made by the admins, please feel free to reach out privately for discussion.

15. Collective Responsibility : Every member plays a role in maintaining the integrity of our community. We encourage members to lead by example and help foster a positive environment. ​

16. Spoiler Discussions : If there is a major movie/book/show/episode release, please don't discuss spoilers in the clubs. You can request Sorabh to make a separate group for spoiler discussions of that specific movie/show.

17. Exiting : Please leave all the clubs and city chapter groups if you choose to discontinue with your membership. Just like the welcome call, we will reach out to the member for an exit call to take feedback, and to ensure we make the community better. 1

18. Payments and Refunds : Please check our refund policy here. We adhere to that.

19. Be Kind : Please be kind to each other. Over the years, people have become faster to attack, and slower to recognize each other’s shared humanity. Things can sometimes seem more aggressive on text but and giving each other the benefit of doubt goes a long way.

20. Be Patient : We are a small team and we are doing our best to make sure that the community is well taken care of. We really appreciate your feedback, but things may take time to implement. We request you to be patient with us in this regard. There are a not a lot of paid Whatsapp Communities in the world. We are doing this for the first time and learning as we grow. We rely on every member’s collective responsibility in maintaining our community's ethos.
