Curious with an insatiable appetite. ‘A hobby a day keeps the doldrums away’. Tucked away in the crevices of the after-work hours, I always find time to nurse my brain cells to good health, by indulging in hobbies that are precious to me. Books have been a constant in my life since prep school. Nothing gives me more joy than finishing my book, marking it as ‘read’ on Goodreads and adding to my library collection. You will often find me reading literary fiction, graphic novels, and books on food. Though my film watching journey only started when I turned 18, I seem to have gone at rocket speed catching up with the old and new day classics, and more. My comfort watch would mostly be PBS/BBC adaptations of classic books or period dramas (an unhealthy obsession with the Kennedys and European royalty). I am super excited for the era of inclusive storytelling on screen (Ms. Marvel, Beef, Insecure etc). Podcasts have ruined music for me; my brain doesn’t comprehend new artists anymore and prefers the information dump of true crime, book reviews, pop culture discussions instead. All these interests help me in good ol’ trivia scavenging and keeping my quizzing brain sharp. When my Energizer bunny brain needs to calm down, I fill up my sketchbook. Lastly, I am truly obsessed with all things food- trying new cuisines, Eater videos, GBBO, unique cookbooks, food history, cooking as an art form et al. Chalchitra Talks gave me friends for all moods and seasons. Being in the presence of fellow members of the community has only made my coolness quotient go up by proxy. Not only does the channel churn out excellent content day after day, their consistency and rise to fame have felt like a personal victory because of my long-standing relationship with them.
